The tiny flutter of the heart is the heart’s rhythm. This is the medical field of cardiac electrophysiology, and several of our cardiologists specialize in this area. They treat a variety of heart rhythm disorders, including heart palpitations, heart arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation and syncope (fainting).
Using a variety of therapies including pacemakers, defibrillators, ablative approaches, remote monitoring and more advanced treatments such as the Convergent Procedure, our cardiologists and clinical team will determine an appropriate approach for individual needs.
The Huntsville Hospital Heart Institute includes two electrophysiology labs. Annually, our cardiologists performed approximately 3,700 electrophysiology procedures.
