Heart Center welcomes 4 new cardiac specialists

Huntsville Hospital Heart Center continues to add more cardiac specialists to care for our growing community.
Since the start of the summer, the Heart Center has welcomed a new cardiothoracic surgeon and three cardiologists to its physician team. The experts at the Heart Center have helped Huntsville Hospital be recognized by Healthgrades as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery for five consecutive years.
Paul J. Speicher, MD, recently joined Huntsville Cardiothoracic Surgeons. He specializes in complex procedures including thoracic oncology, thoracic surgery, VATS and open thoracic procedures, robotic procedures, bronchoscopy, lung volume reduction surgery and esophageal disorders. Dr. Speicher graduated from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He completed both his residency and fellowship at Duke University and is board certified in general surgery.
Interventional cardiologist Jacqueline L. Green, MD, specializes in cardiac catheterization, clinical general cardiology, complex coronary intervention, interventional cardiology procedures, prevention and treatment of coronary disease, and prevention and treatment of congestive heart failure. Dr. Green graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. She also completed her residency at Emory, followed by a fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Green is board certified in internal medicine, general cardiology and interventional cardiology.
Cardiologist Abdul W. Hritani, MD, specializes in clinical general cardiology, cardiac imaging, treatment of pulmonary hypertension, cardiac catheterization, prevention and treatment of congestive heart failure, and prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease. Dr. Hritani graduated from the University of Aleppo School of Medicine in Syria. He completed his residency at the University of Florida, followed by a fellowship at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wisc. Dr. Hritani is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.
Interventional cardiologist Mohammad Thawabi, MD, specializes in cardiac catheterization, cardiac imaging, complex coronary intervention, interventional cardiology procedures, prevention and treatment of coronary disease, prevention and treatment of peripheral vascular disease, and advanced hemodynamic care. Dr. Thawabi graduated from the University of Jordan School of Medicine. He completed his residency at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, N.J., followed by a fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Dr. Thawabi is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, vascular interpretation and interventional cardiology.
